Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Amlin is a meeting notepad built on a simple promise: your notes are yours, and we keep as little as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. Amlin is operated by Amlin Labs LLC ("we", "us").
The short version
- We do not record or store your meeting audio. Audio is streamed to our transcription provider, converted to text in real time, and discarded. We never write audio files to disk or keep them.
- Your notes and transcripts are yours. They are stored on your device and synced to your account so you can reach them from your other devices.
- No bot joins your meetings. Amlin captures audio at the operating-system level; it does not join calls as a participant.
- We use a small number of trusted providers to make the product work, listed below.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and a Google account identifier. We use this to authenticate you and to associate your notes with your account.
Your content
Notes you write and transcripts generated during meetings you choose to capture. This content is stored locally on your device and synced to our servers so it is available across your devices. We process it only to provide the service to you.
Meeting audio
When you start capturing a meeting, Amlin streams microphone and system audio to our transcription provider to produce a live transcript. The audio is not stored by Amlin — it is discarded once transcribed. Only the resulting text is kept, as part of your notes.
Calendar (optional)
If you connect Google Calendar, we request read-only access to show your upcoming meetings and help you attach a note to an event. We do not modify your calendar, and we do not retain calendar data beyond what is needed to display it to you.
Usage information
We record aggregate usage — such as meeting-hours and the number of AI queries — to enforce plan limits and support billing. We keep basic diagnostic logs to operate the service reliably.
Payment information
Payments are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We share the minimum data necessary with these providers so the product can function:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in & optional read-only Calendar | Account identity, calendar events | |
| Deepgram | Speech-to-text transcription | Live meeting audio (not retained by Amlin) |
| Anthropic | AI summaries, enhancement & chat | Your notes and transcript text |
| Fly.io | Hosting & sync storage | Notes, transcripts, account & usage data |
| Lemon Squeezy | Payments (Merchant of Record) | Billing details you provide at checkout |
Each provider processes data under its own terms. We encourage you to review the retention settings we have in place; we configure providers for minimal retention where that option is available.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve Amlin.
- To transcribe meetings and generate the notes you ask for.
- To sync your content across your devices.
- To enforce plan limits, process subscriptions, and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account or service issues.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your notes or transcripts to train our own models.
Data retention & deletion
Your notes and transcripts are kept until you delete them or close your account. Meeting audio is never retained. You can delete individual notes at any time in the app. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@amlin.ai and we will remove it, subject to any records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@amlin.ai. Because much of your content is stored locally on your device, you can also access and delete a great deal of it directly in the app.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Account credentials are stored using your operating system's secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Children
Amlin is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
