Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Amlin, provided by Amlin Labs LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Amlin, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Amlin is

Amlin is a meeting notepad for macOS and iOS. It captures meeting audio at the operating-system level, transcribes it, and helps you turn your notes and the transcript into structured summaries. Some features rely on cloud services and require an account and internet connection.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use Amlin. When you sign in with Google, you're responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity under it. You must provide accurate information and keep it current.

3. Your responsibility for recording

You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to recording and transcribing conversations, including obtaining any consent required in your jurisdiction from other participants. Amlin gives you the tools; how you use them is up to you.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use Amlin for anything unlawful; capture conversations you have no right to capture; attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the service or its usage limits; resell the service; or use it to build a competing product from our data.

5. Your content

You own your notes and transcripts. You grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and transmit that content solely to provide the service to you (for example, sending transcript text to our AI provider to generate a summary you requested). We claim no other rights to your content.

6. AI output

Amlin uses automated systems to transcribe audio and generate summaries. These outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete. Amlin is an assistant, not a system of record — review important details before relying on them. You are responsible for how you use the output.

7. Plans, billing & renewals

Amlin offers a free tier with usage limits and paid subscriptions with higher limits. Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record; your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms.

8. Service availability

We work to keep Amlin available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may impose or adjust usage limits to keep the service healthy.

9. Disclaimers

Amlin is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using Amlin at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
